Just wanted to let you guys know I’m wrapping up the paperwork and calculating numbers and stuff (there were some local donations as well, which meant Euro conversion and BLABLABLA)!
(I hate doing paperwork. I need a girlfriend who’s good with that >:D)
I wanted to thank everyone who’s supported this fundraiser and motivated me to keep going! I’m halfway into the commissions for the fundraiser and hope to finish reaaaaally soon! I’ll be making a video with the results and stuff on my Youtube channel when all is said and done!
I’ve also been having problems with my scanner, but they’ve been fixed! I’ll be posting more entries soon on my DeviantArt page
Love,
TamTu
Hi everyone!
As you can see to the right, over $400 has been raised so far! There’s still a lot to sketch but the ideas sent in for sketches are amazingly cool, for sure!

Now, to prevent me from having to draw until the end of times, I’m setting March 31st as the last day to donate for sketches. That’s almost an entire week from posting this to get on the commissions list until I stop accepting them. If you want to make an open donation without sketch, I would ask you to make the donation to the Red Cross of SaveTheChildren.org directly. Regardless, all proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Red Cross Japan as mentioned in the announcement post.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s donated so far; Gonna do my best to get your sketches in as fast as I can!
On a related note; the missing family members of my close friend have finally returned home, which I’m incredibly relieved for. This is just very good news for me and more motivation to support the country. Did you read about Hideaki Akaiwa? A true hero and very inspiring to see how Japan and its people continue fight to bring a better tomorrow to those around them.
Hey, so unless you’ve been living under a rock; Japan has been struck with disaster after an 8.9 earthquake shook things up and caused a tsunami that destroyed a large part of the island country’s east coast. On top of raising awareness for this via Twitter and Facebook, I really wanted to do something more than just donating. Cue my new project for this week “$5ketches for Japan”.
The idea is simple. $5 for a sketch of anything you want*. What’s gonna happen is that the totals of this fundraising will be collected via the paypal account I set up for it and send it directly to the Japanese Red Cross via Google’s Crisis Response page. All I get out of this is an oppertunity to sketch my artistic butt off for a cause.
I have friends and many people in Japan that have been a big part of my life and inspired me directly and indirectly. I have nothing to gain but sketches to add to my scrapbooks, which are my pride and joy, so if you can spare the money (hey, fellow FFXI players, you’re not getting billed in april!)
Keep an eye out for my vlog where I’ll recap this post, as well as a follow up video!
Thank you for your time. I’ve felt really helpless beyond donating so I’m looking to do more, especially since one of my best friends is struggling in Japan volunteering in aid and awaiting news of her family.
